PR: B5089 View A Modified (OOP)

Butterick 5089 View A Modified (OOP)

Pattern Description: Unlined, semi-fitted, above waist jacket has dolman sleeves with length variations and with or without collar. A: snap closure at neck

Pattern Sizing: I cut size 8

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Not really cuz I changed it..lol

Were the instructions easy to follow? Dont really know because I didnt use them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? well I had this idea in my head of what I wanted my coat to look like and this pattern had the top part right :) so I used that as my base

Fabric Used: wonderful wool blend I got in NY i think.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Well, I added length..lol, I fully lined it so I used the pattern pieces (modified ones) to create the lining and facings. I added two large patch pockets and a leather belt buckle thingy.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I wont sew it again but if you like it you can easily modify this one.

Conclusion: love it, it is just what I had in my head.

NEW Video

Hello!

I was at forever 21 not long ago and found this really great sweater, drapey thing..lol and wanted to make them out of fabric since they only had knitted ones. So I bought one and decided to make my version of it.

Here is the promo video, the full length video can be purchased and downloaded by clicking on the paypal link.

Full Length Video $7.00

Promo Video:

The video is an instructional video with a DIY pattern, it is about 60 min long and I cover the following:

Tools
Fabric Layout
Making the pattern (no paper or pattern experience required)
Cutting out the pattern
Pinning
Sewing
Serging
Putting it together
and tips along the way.

Not only is this a pattern and sewing instructional video but it is also a great beginner project. That's how easy it is to make.
