What I Wore | Grey Poncho & White Jeans

Okay, first off I swear I am sewing, I just haven't been able to finish a project because of my schedule but soon i will post some PR's

I never follow the rules so this whole old age rule about not wearing white after labor day is crap! lol
I love wearing white in the winter so when I saw a pic on some website of a super thin fabulous model wearing a grey poncho over a button down I went to my closet and lo and behold I had a grey poncho in there...sometimes I forget what I have in there :)

What I Wore | Jeans and Tee

I keep hoping the weather is going to colder but it's gonna be 82 here in Cali today, WTH? lol
I usually spend a good 30 minutes before I go to bed trying to decide what to wear to work the next day and you would think that having two full walk in closets of clothing would make it easy but it does not! it makes it harder because I have too many options and I want to wear everything!!! lol

I am really trying to figure out what to do right now because I keep sewing and I can't squeeze much else into my space, I think I need to start buying rolling garment racks, LOL!!!

I picked up this dress at H& for $19.00 and my shoes I bought over the weekend at Steve Madden with a 30% off coupon :)

Did I mention how much love my velvety floral print chunky heels!!!

What I Wore | Skinny Jeans & Houndstooth Jacket

Yesterday was full of cooking, eating, cleaning and eating some more! after things had settled we decided to go catch a movie so off we went to watch "Like Crazy" which was eh...the acting was good :-/

I made this jacket last year I think, but I can't find the post or the review!
I wore a pair of stretch skinnies and a distressed yellow tee with my yellow shoes which I had not worn in so long that I forgot how much I like them.

We went to the Sherman Oaks Galleria and the hubby got a little crazy with the picture taking, lol he said he was adding production value to my shots ;-)

They had the Christmas Tree all set up so it was perfect place to snap a pic.

Awww :-)

I hope you guys had a great time yesterday!

Thanksgiving and Katy Perry

First I want to say thanks...

I am blessed! I have a man who does anything in his power to make me happy everyday, he shows me that he loves me with the simplest gestures. My children are happy and healthy, I have the best most loving mother and I love what I do. I am thankful for everything I have and everyone who I have the pleasure of knowing and sharing my life with. Thank you for reading my posts, looking at my pictures and commenting on my day to day "stuff". May god bless you all and always be thankful for all the things that so many of us take for granted. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Now, today was a fun day and I got to dress up so that made it even better, lol. Working in Film and Television has its perks and since we were filming the Katy Perry concert tonight I was able to attend and take my oldest and a few friends......this is what I wore :-)

Mimi G. PR: S2311 Leopard Print Coat

Leopard Print Coat & What I Wore

I saw a coat on the Nordstrom website and I knew I had to make one. I am totally embracing the animal print and since this Milly Belted Leopard Print Coat was $695.00!!! I figured it could make it myself for about $38.50 using my coupons from Joann. I knew I did not want buttons or a butterfly collar so I chose Simplicity 2311 View B.

I love that I can wear this open or closed and it looks just as amazing!

Pattern Description: Coat in two lengths with collar, sleeve and belt variations.

Pattern Sizing: I cut the 6 so it would give me wiggle room when I wore sweaters/tops

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? The jacket was pretty easy to put together since there were not that many pattern pieces. It is fully lined and the front and facings are interfaced so it took a little while to sew.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the style of the jacket and I really love that I can dress it up or rock it with Jeans and Tee.

Fabric Used: Some faux fur something or another from Joann..lol

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I moved the pockets from the sides to the PS and shortened it by 3" because it was too long for me.

Conclusion: I love this jacket! I did want to mention that I made my lining first because I often begin a project and when I get to the lining I lose motivation so sewing that first kinda gets it out of the way, lol

I rocked my jacket with my recently made orange V1264 pants and a simple off white top from the Gap. I wore my Steve Madden patent leather pumps and added a little more color with my Green MK bag.

I also wore these awesome earrings and Cuff I got a Forever 21 and the necklace I picked up at H&M

My Sunglasses are my usual favorites from MK of course.

Here is a view of the jacket belted.

Mimi G. PR: V1264 Anne Klein New York

Vogue 1264

This is my second pair of these fabulous pants, the first was my hot pink pair which I have worn to death..lol The pattern is just so easy and fast that I can't help but to keep making them in bright colors.

Pattern Description: Semi-fitted pants with tapered leg.

Pattern Sizing: I cut the size 8 and made fit adjustments.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? I have made these once before so I did not use them this time but yes they are easy to follow and really quick to sew up.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love this pattern, I am so into the ciggies right now and this pattern is perfect. The fit is pretty good right out of the envelope except for some minor adjustments and the tapered leg with the slit is so cute!

Fabric Used: a bull denim from Joann in a bright orange

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: just my usual alterations at the waist.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I am making them again in aright blue and green...lol

Conclusion: Love these!

The hubby and I went on our usual date this past Saturday. We enjoyed some Sushi and almost saw a movie but we were both so tired we just went home after dinner, lol! At least the sushi chef saw my outfit!

I wore my pleather leggings and grey tank with an ultra blue blazer which I am currently in love with! My heels are super high but really comfy to wear.

What I Wore Today & Second V1200

What I Wore Today....

I posted a PR of V1200 yesterday and mentioned that I made 3 pairs and today I am wearing the second pair made in a dark teal. I love this pattern, seriously it is a TNT for wide leg trousers for me. You can easily add design changes and the fit is pretty good right out of the envelope and if you have any experience fitting pants then you can get a pretty darn good pair out of this pattern. I have many MANY fittings on pants so I can usually get a perfect fit for myself. This is what I wore today...

Pants: V1200
Sweater: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21

PR: V1200 and What I Wore Today!

V1200 & What I Wore Today

Pattern Description: Loose-fitting, slightly flared, full length pants have contour waistband, belt carriers, side slant pockets and fly zipper closing.

Pattern Sizing: I cut the 8

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, If you have made fly front pants before then you can can skip the instructions but I did read them for the sake of the review.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the details of the fly front, pockets and the fit.

Fabric Used: I used a bright red crepe

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I didn't make any significant changes but I did add 1.5" to the hem because I like my slacks to cover my shoes and a prefer a wider hem then the one they suggested.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I already did..lol I made 3 pair including this pair over the weekend. I think I'm done now but I do recommend it.

Conclusion: I love these! the fit was pretty good right out of the envelope, only minor adjustments were needed.

Hi Guys!!!

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was FAB since on Saturday was my birthday and the fun began on Friday. First my DD gave me some fabulous gifts and then DH spoiled me of course, here are the gifts and then ill share what we did :-)

From My Hubby, first up my BADGLEY MISCHKA Red Leather Chain Link Clutch!!! I LOVE her!!

Then I got a new Michael Kors White Leather Band Watch, its super Fabulous!

From my eldest baby girl I got this fabulous leather and gold Michael Kors Cuff and a Python MK iPhone Case, I love them both!!

Now for the "what we did" :-)

On Friday night the hubby took me to dinner (sushi) and then he surprised me with tickets to the Broadway show at the Pantages Theater here in Los Angeles to see "Come Fly Away" a musical showcasing Frank Sinatra Songs, it was AMAZING!!

Then on Saturday we had such a great time, we woke up early and headed to San Diego. The day was amazing, not too hot and not too cold and the drive up along the coast is so pretty. When we arrived we headed to SeaWorld for a fun filled day. SeaWorld was soooo much fun, it was just the two of us hanging out like teenagers :-) we spent the whole day looking at amazing sea animals, riding the rides and watching the dolphin/whale shows was so great.

we were on one the water rides..lol

That is the ride behind me

Welcome to Sea World, lol

We then changed into some spiffy attire and headed to dinner at the umber fancy/romantic Mr. A's in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. The service was amazing!

The pics are not very good because they were taken on a battery dying phone, lol and the lighting was not good but here ya go :-) The funny part is that by the time we got around to taking pics of us together BOTH our phone were DEAD, lol our waiter took some on his phone and we are praying he remembers to send them to us....fingers crossed.

I had to show you the shoes!!! LOL

Damn those shoes are HOT!!!
