Hi Darlings! I had been holding on to this piece of mustard color stretch cord fabric since my trip to Britex last summer and I finally got around to using it. Now since every time I use a pattern I follow my own tips I took measurements from my favorite pair of flares so that I could make adjustments to the pattern I was using.
I made THIS pattern before in 2009 and 2010 and although the pattern itself is drafted well it didn't have the flare I wanted and they are not long enough because as you know I always wear my flares to the ground ;-)
Pattern Sizing: I cut a size T
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done ? yes sort of.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Because I have made these before and I have my own way of contructing pants I didn't follow the instructions but I will say that Jalie has great illustrations for those who may need a visual guide.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This is a really great jeans pattern because it is drafted without a terrible amount of ease to fiddle with. I like how fitted they are throughout the hips down to the knees and because I used the finished measurements of my favorite ready to wear jeans I didn't need to make adjustments after cutting/sewing because I had transferred my preferred measurements and length to the pattern first. (I explain that in this post) I also always use Sandra's Method for the fly front.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The ones mentioned above.
Would you sew it again? I will use the pattern again.
Would you recommend it to others? I would recommend this pattern the fit is really great without a lot of adjustments needed.

BRAVO...MRS.MIMI!!!!!! I LUV THE STYLE, THE LENGTH, THE FABRIC AND THE COLOR.

DeleteI'm totally in love with that color this season. Great fit on the pants. Do you have any trouble with the fabric growing or do you do negative ease to keep bagginess to a minimum?
ReplyDeleteI do use negative ease because as you where them even stretch fabric tends to grow a bit ;-)
