Lesson #3 Video
F21 Sweater (old) / #DIY Pants using New Look Pattern 6189 / Audrey Brooks Heels (old)
I just had to make another pair of these in this yummy kelly green wool I ordered last year online for a project that I never got around to doing. The color is great and the pants were great this weekend when I wore them out with the family on our usual Sunday errands.
My baby girl wanted to pose with mommy, lol she is so cute!

ReplyDeleteHi Mimi,
ReplyDeleteIn Lesson #3, could you please explain what you did to the bottom of your iron and why? It looked like it is covered or padded with something. If it is, do you keep it on for all ironing when sewing?
Tnx,
- Dee
It is a teflon foot. It keeps fabric from accidental scorching and also will keep any goop from interfacing from sticking to your iron,
DeleteHey Mimi, where did you get that teflon cover for your iron? I have never seen one before.
Deletecool and lovely fashion...
ReplyDeleteOnline Fashion Shop
I have to share this....my "plus sized" self had the unknowing nerve to buy the pattern and all necessary fabric for a size 18 pattern. Well after listening to the previous video and measuring my waist....I now have to go and buy the Butterick pattern and additional fabric. I now need 1 5/8 yds instead of the 1 1/2 I purchased. I will use the fabric for another project. Oh well....you live and learn. Mimi do you think I can SQUEEZE 5/8 yards out of 1/2 LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat a CUTIE your daughter is :)
ReplyDeleteHi mimi, I really love this outfit and your daughter is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. Felicia
Mimi...heeeellllpppp! Ok, I know you stated that the materials/supplies would be the same for the Simplicity & Butterick pattern, but I need some clarification. The Simplicity pattern calls for interfacing and the Butterick pattern calls for "waistband interfacing"...is that the same just a different name for it??? Thanks in advance!!
ReplyDeleteI am having to use the Butterick pattern as well. Will we have to buy additional interfacing? Have you be able to access the flickr group? I have not been successful. Kellie
DeleteNo you don't need special or additional interfacing dolls. You just need the same kind I talk about in the vid.
DeleteThanks Mimi! I did get flickr figured out!
DeleteThanks, Mimi!!
DeleteHey Kellie,
I'm just going to assume that's a question for me. :). Yes, I've been able to get on the Flickr group.
Please help me...MIMI!! Lol. I'm not sure if you've addressed this or not or if anyone else had this issue but my pattern piece (Front-4) is bigger than the(Back-5). I cut a size 16 on both. So, when I went to sew my front and back pieces of my skirt together the notches don't match up! I'm not sure what to do now because I'm thinking this could throw off the waistband. Do I re-sew the smaller piece (back seam) with less seam allowance to make it match the bigger piece? Please help. Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteMimi, I love your style...it is so much the way I dress only I am thicker than you. Also you don't put up over priced things that the average "fashionista" can't afford. Keep doing your thing...God bless.
ReplyDeleteaww... mommy n baby sooo chic, cute!
