DIY Slouchy Pants: Burda 7195 "The Last Hurrah"

Hi Darlings!

If you know anything at all about me is that I can be a bit obsessive and when I like something I buy it in every color and/or MAKE it in every color. So.... I have made my favorite wide and flowy pants again for the third and last time.

I made them the very first time in a black challis fabric which I just love because the fabric is so yummy and silky soft against my skin and the fabric drapes like nobody's business (you can see and read the review HERE). Then I made them again in an Ethnic Print Fabric I got courtesy of Joann Fabric HERE. So of course in my head I felt I needed another pair in a denim look and I had the perfect fabric for them in my stash; I picked up this amazing Tencel Denim HERE if you have ever sewn with Tencel fabrics you know they are usually very supple and have a nice sheen to them.

Anywho... now that I have them in this retro denim look I am going to retire this pattern ;-) well, dont hold me to this but I really want to make the shorts version :-/ The best thing about BURDA 7195 is that they are easy to make, almost fit proof because they are so wide you can really mess up and they are uber comfy to wear.

  14. Great job Mimi! Just looked at the pattern. The shorts look just as comfortable as the pants. Think it can be converted to a maxi/mini skirt? How about a sundress? It's the fold over waist that has my mind going in circles.
    Creatively that is.

  15. These look fantastic on you! I'm also madly in love with that nail polish. Do you know what the color name and brand it is? I really need that one for summer to go with all the new clothes you've inspired me to sew :)

  20. Hi Mimi, I am quite new to your site. I love your style, it is so me. I got a new sewing machine about 2 years ago and I've only made 3 shirts. Sewing can be a little rough if you don't know what your doing. But since visiting your site (which I'm so glad my sister told me about you) I've taken a sewing class and I have my confidence up! You were my inspiration to take it up a notch! Thanks!

  21. MiMi I want to make these pants and I am trying to see how much pattern I need. Im looking at the back of the pattern on the web site and there are 2 columns, one is labeled with 45ins and 55ins with the sized located underneath. What does the 45/55 ins mean?
