Hi Darlings!
What can I say I cant get enough of V1314 by Tracy Reese. I made this dress last year in a bold floral print and it is still one of my favorites, every time I wear it I get stopped and asked where I got it. I did a review of it in August which you can read about HERE the only difference this time around is that the fabric I used is a sheer mesh knit which I lined with a black knit fabric except for the sleeves.

DeleteAwesome dress. I love that print! Can you do a video tutorial on how to line a piece of clothing?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a tutorial too. Great dress.
DeleteI'll add it to the list, lol
DeleteI love this dress! Great fabric choice. I just wore mines yesterday in a purple and grey jersey knit. I can most def see myself making this again. LaDonna
ReplyDeleteMimi - you look absolutely radiant! I love the dress and the colors. I've seen knit mesh before (online) but I didn't know how it would look or how it was to be used. One of the reasons I enjoy your blog so much is because in addition to showing your version of patterns, I learn how a certain fabric can be used. It's been really helpful for me and my own sewing. Thank you ;)
ReplyDeleteYay so glad it helps you! and thank you so much.
DeleteHOT!!! I LOVE IT!!!

DeleteThe print on that dress is fabulous!! It sort of reminds me of ikat. I agree with the above comment about learning how different fabrics are used. I learn a lot about fabrics from your blog too. (^_^)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLove this
ReplyDeleteThanks ;-)
DeleteMimi are the shoes comfortable?
ReplyDeleteLOL, I always find that question funny because I don't wear shoes unless they are comfortable. If I have them on it's because I can walk in them all day without pain ;-)
DeleteI kinda figured that but wanted to check just in case. I purchased them and bought a half size larger since the reviews stated that they ran small/tight. BTW, whenever I'm not sure how to put an outfit together - I check out your Facebook page or blog and to date I have always found the color combination I was looking for AND learned how to choose the perfect accessories :) Loving me some mimi sytle!!!
DeleteThanks ;-)
ReplyDeleteFirst and foremost I am just now starting to follow you and you won't even understand how much you've inspired me. I am a self taught sewer and I lose focus so quickly between work and my three children. You have inspired me to make time for the things that I love to do (along with my husband) and I want to thank you for that. Secondly, girrrrrrrrrrrrl, you better work that dress. Your shape is amazing (with four children) and everything you make fits perfectly. I'm hoping to make a piece that fits me just as nice so that I can send it to you :) You are awesome love!
ReplyDeleteThanks doll!! That is so great to read! excited for you ;-)
DeleteOnce again another gorgeous outfit. You are my fashion inspiration. I also want to be able to make labels for my outfits, please do a video tutorial if you make your own.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much doll and no I dont do my labels, I have a manufacturer here in LA
DeleteCan I use silk cotton fabric for this dress??
ReplyDeleteNo doll, it requires a 2 way stretch fabric.
DeleteAnother great dress! I would never have looked at this pattern (can't tell much from the model's pose!) but now have to have it. You always manage to pick the perfect fabric for a pattern -- not always easy to do! Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love you and your style. I got my sister to start following you so she can make some items for me. She is the one with the sewing machine. Hopefully I will have a garment pretty soon. Oh and I just purchased those shoes to add to my collection. They are too cute.

ReplyDeleteLove your blog! I've been following you a while and you're so inspiring. It's helped me to push myself in my sewing and I've made huge strides... now I can make wearable garments for me and not just my 3 yr old! Anyway I started a blog and made this same dress because I loved yours so much! I hope you don't mind but I linked to this post as well
