I was looking on your YouTube channel to see if you made a video before about correct sizing but didn't find one. I always go by the pattern size, make the garment and am very frustrated because it does not fit right and then I am out of money and time. ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing this for over a year now. I want it so bad. I've tried several methods of altering patterns to fit my plus size body and failed so many times. I just need to method that will work and I'm sure Kenneth has the answers.

I have been loosing weight and I dont have the money to go buy a new wardrobe and I dont really want to till I reach my goal. ReplyDeleteThank you Mimi for personally inspiring so many to learn to sew or re-ignite their passion for such a unique hobby. I first learned when I was seven, I stopped for quite some time. I always had the urge to want to go back to it but let my procrastination get the best of me. I now am beginning again thanks to you. This will be my way to do something specifically for me ( as a busy mother of five that is very rare). Keep doing the good work and informing the masses. Having gained weight unexpectantly my body shape is not one clear cut size, so having this set would allow me to get a more concise understanding to a proper fit for myself. You are a blessing to all who have come to know you in this capacity. Im sorry I missed your conference I would've truly enjoyed it. Planning on it for next year for sure.

When you see the 'role models' that many girls aspire to be like it's quite scary. I live in the UK, and it appears that girls here want to look like Barbie and be paid alot of money for doing nothing. ReplyDeleteTears came to my eyes when I read you had not seen your mom for more than 3 years because I can relate from a mother's perspective. After losing our home in Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans my young daughter had to evacuate and ended up in Indianapolis, I didn't get to see and touch her for almost 2 years, I cried everyday. Though she never returned to the south I now get to see her at least twice a year and we FaceTime constantly so I am grateful for that. When she visited recently I made her 3 Regal Skirts, (i purchased tutorial) which she adored and she says when ever she wears them she feels so confident and beautiful, so that lifted both of our spirits.

ReplyDeleteMIMI this is an awesome giveaway and I would love to have it. My sixteen year old daughter's body shape requires me to be good in tailoring. Her top is a 36 but those hips are a 45. I hope I am the lucky winner and I am planning ahead so I can attend your conference next year.
