DIY Leather & Floral Dress + Pattern Review V8766

Hi Darlings!

I am so loving my dress today. I picked up this yummy stretch cotton floral print from ML a few days ago and I knew exactly what I was going to do with it because some of the flowers are the exact same shade of my metallic leather and because I wanted to add interest and more comfort to my V8766 I chose to make the entire back out of a yummy super stretchy black knit.

Pattern Description: Misses Dresses V8766

Fabric Used: Metallic Genuine Leather / Skirt Front: Floral Stretch Cotton HERE / Back: Stretch Knit.

Pattern Sizing: For the bodice I cut the 6 and for the skirt I cut the 8 and graded at the waist.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done? Um I yeah

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, this is a very simple dress to make and I have made several strapless fitted sheaths so it was pretty standard for me. The instructions were clear and the boning is only added at the sides so it came together really quickly.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I knew in my head that dress had less to do with the pattern and everything to do with my fabric choices so the pattern just served as a basic dress pattern to work with.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added 3" to the length so it would fall just below my knee.

Would you sew it again? I think I will make another view since I thought the pattern was good and has options.

Would you recommend it to others? Yep! but make sure to make a muslin if you don't know your pattern sizing well. I had not used this specific pattern before so I did a quick muslin of the top just to avoid any issues with my leather since I did not have much of it.
