DIY Sewing: Fingerless Gloves & Shoulder Cape + Pattern Review

Hi Darlings,

Well as it happens every so often I have lost my mojo. When the "business" of blogging becomes overwhelming and I am in a whirlwind of meetings, calls, planning etc. I often will lose my creative mojo. When this happens I just know that I can't force it, I just need to ride it out until I get a burst of inspiration.

Thankfully I have a few DIY items that I have yet to show you so don't worry, you will still get your fix. Today is a very causal day for me and since I am always cold I pulled out these extra long fingerless gloves I made a few weeks back. These are the best thing ever! since California weather is so unpredictable from moment to moment this makes it super easy to remove layers when it starts to warm up later today.

DIY Fingerless Gloves & Shoulder Cape Sewing Pattern HERE / Fabric options HERE / Gap Jeans
/ Gap T-shirt /Jessica Simpson Platforms

Pattern Description: Fingerless Gloves and Shoulder Cape B7287

Pattern Sizing: I cut the smallest size

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? SO easy!!!! you don't even need instructions for this. If you can sew a straight line you can make these....seriously.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I can NEVER find long enough gloves and since I love wearing t-shirts but don't like my arms being cold this is perfect!

Fabric Used: Black Knit (you can use any stretch fabric for this)

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Yes, I will be making these a lot

Would you recommend it to others? Yes

  1. Very cute! I have been meaning to make some fingerless gloves. I am cold so often, but here we have more of an excuse in MN. ;) I tried on some that were faux leather and knit, but figured I could make them for the price. Now I just have to do it!

  7. So Chic and So Cute. Don't think I've ever seen a shoulder cape before, but I like it and I like that it can be worn as a cowl as well... very versatile.
