Keeping It Neutral + Seamster In The Making

Hi Darlings! It is Monday and I am so not in the mood to be cute today, LOL I really just wanted to leave the house this morning in sweat pants and a t-shirt (sacrilege, I know!) but that is how I was feeling so this neutral palette is the best I could manage today ^_^ besides I was most excited about sharing the two pieces my baby girl Lexi (who blogged about it here) made.

I was so excited to see her enjoying it and having never sewn before she did great, followed direction and knocked out this McCall 6566 tshirt in a half day and then on Sunday I found her following my pencil skirt tutorial on youtube, LOL and she did it! she made the pencil skirt ;-) please visit her blog and give her a thumbs up.

So before we get to my boring outfit, here is Lexi's first outfit! and remember that 4 tutorial special in her honor ends tonight at midnight.

Top and Skirt made by Lexi G. woohooo!!!!

  10. Lexi did so well. You both look great and your outfit is NOT boring. It looks great on you. May I digress and ask a question? I am always impressed by your ability to make pants--they are a fitting challenge for me. I would really like to make a pair of pants like these I saw on Pinterest today. The link is at the end of this post. Would V1143 work if I narrowed the thigh a little? Link to pants: http://media-cache-ec5.pinterest.com/upload/58476495132922113_k807PUcO_f.jpg

  18. Oh wow! I am so impressed, and motivated. Your daughter did such an awesome job on her first time sewing that I'm thinking (& inspired) that I might just could pull it off. My mother has a sewing machine just laying around, I might just see if I can pull off something fabulous.

By the way, thanks for sharing how to work it on days when you just don't feel like it. Love the outfit!

  20. Hey Mimi,

You are the cutest thing on earth... Love your styles and you remind me of my mom who sew her way through college.

Questions where did you get your sunglasses from? the ones you're wearing with the green shirt, navy blue pants and pink pointy pumps.
