Hi Dolls!! I am excited today because I get to share a "just for my readers" coupon code from my favorite local fabric store Michael Levin Fabrics here in Los Angeles!
I made one of my famous 15 Minute Pencil Skirts a few weeks ago from a swimwear fabric I picked up at Michael Levin's and yes I used swimwear fabric. It is PERFECT for this skirt tutorial because it stretches like no body's business and it is thick enough to hold it all together ;-) who would have thunk it but when I saw the fabric I knew it would be a great pencil skirt and so I gave the swimwear fabric a shot and it works like a charm! I picked a few from he site that I LOVE and you my dear readers get to use a special coupon! "MIMI10" will give you 10% off anything on the site! so go take a look because they have a lot more!! (COUPON EXPIRES DEC. 10TH)

Hi Mimi,
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with you. I have a bolt of swimwear fabric and I never thought to use it for the pencil skirt. It's shinny too, I can make one to wear during the holidays. Thanks for the tip.

ReplyDeleteThank you doll!
DeleteLove the bold print with the simple sweater! Swimwear fabric, whodathunkit!!
ReplyDeleteThe sweater doesn't look as appealing on the "Forever 21" model. The oversize look made it special. Would you consider a pearl-drop type button rather than the tie in the back? Fab as usual. :)
ReplyDeleteHow is the machine? Love this skirt.
ReplyDeleteThe machine is great! I cant wait to talk about it ;-)

ReplyDeleteLooks very cute and comfortable, as always you hit the nail on the head!!
ReplyDeleteCute look! FYI- I just noticed that McCall's, Butterick, etc. are having their "Out of Print", $1.99 sale for a short time. The patterns aren't the best, but you might be able to make something out of nothing. :)
ReplyDeleteCrisa
I know, I own most of them already, LOL
DeleteLooking Great Mimi. If you don't mind me asking how tall are you?
ReplyDeleteThanks ;-) I am 5' 4" tall
DeleteLove this skirt (well the whole outfit)! Thanks for the coupon...I have found lots of fabrics on the site that I like for dirt cheap prices.
ReplyDeleteQuestion, do you, or anyone else that wants to answer have a problem with the site loading very slowly? That's the only reason I hadn't made a purchase yet because of my impatience...anyhow, looks like that paid off because now I can use your coupon. Thanks again!
What a gorgeous skirt!
ReplyDelete<3 your shoes as well.
