Aldo Sexy Pumps! + Gap Jeans & White Shirt

WooHooo It's Friday! How much do I love dark jeans with a crisp white shirt? <------------------------> this much! Okay so, I was dying to wear my new Aldo pumps "Romelia" which by the way are sexy as hell and I plan to wear them a lot! so I kept it super simple with my favorite Gap Fitted Boyfriend Shirt, can I just tell you that this shirt is flippin fantastic; If I could wear it everyday with jeans I would that's how much I love it. I'm also a new fan of their Original Fit Selvage Jeans  and let me tell you...

I HATE shopping for jeans! mostly because I have a small waist and a big booty and child bearing hips, lol so it is always difficult to find jeans that fit at the waist without being snug at the hips so when I tried these jeans on *with skepticism I might add* at the sales girls request I was so happy to see that they fit and were comfortable, so comfortable. The most surprising part was that Gap jeans usually don't fit me well and I have to try on so many before sometimes just giving up. I don't know that I will have such luck next time I go buy jeans but I hope that these stay around for a while ;-)

Variety Celebrity Poker Night + BCBG Dress

Hi Darlings! I am so glad that is finally Friday, I am looking forward to resting a bit this weekend before the madness begins again on Monday.

I wanted to share an event the hubby and I attended this week; The Variety Children's Charity invited us again this year to participate in their 2nd Annual Celebrity Poker Night which we were delighted to attend. The amazing people who work day in and day out to improving the lives of children in local communities all around the world.  We had a fantastic time and were able to catch up with good friends. Please take a moment to visit their facebook page and show support by liking the page. I'll show more pics of what I wore this night on FB but here is a quick shot and some pics of the night.

DIY Dress: Pattern Review B5706 Matronly to Sassy!

Good Morning! I am so excited about my dress today because it's the same pattern I used to make the high-low skirt tutorial this time I knew I could make the matronly looking pattern look sassy so I used it as a base pattern and just made it a little more modern. I knew that I needed it to be form fitting and I wanted to make it a midi length but I didn't have enough fabric so I made it as long as my fabric allowed.

This is just a great example of a pattern that most of us would just pass on because the pattern images are not appealing but like I always say, you have to look beyond the pattern pics! I always look at the technical sketch because that gives me a clear indication of what I can do to update the pattern.

Pattern Description: Misses Dresses

Pattern Sizing: I cut the 8 and then chopped off about 4" all around to get the look I wanted.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Ummmm, not really, LOL

Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't use them because I was on my own path at that point.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It is a good basic-build on pattern

Fabric Used: Black/White Striped DK

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Well, I took in the enormous amount of ridiculous ease that is in this pattern and made it form fitting, I pegged it at the knee and added length to the hem.

Would you sew it again? I will use it again as a build up pattern.

Would you recommend it to others? with modifications...yes
