Lady Like Dress + Nude Heeled Sandals

Happy Monday! 

I had such a great weekend and I hope you did too! aside from the beach and the shopping (new camera) I also had time to just sit and relax. I was hoping to get some sewing done on Sunday but I made the terrible mistake of choosing to clean my closet "really fast" which always turns into me getting completely obsessive with organizing every. single. thing and pulling everything out of the drawers and creating a GIGANTIC mess and then cleaning it all up, needless to say that took up ALL day but my closet and bedroom are super clean and in order right now as you see by the pics I posted yesterday ;-) 

Onto what I am wearing, I got this new pic frame software and have been playing with it, do you like the new pic layouts below vs the other style? I also had an idea of doing a short video "Getting dressed w/ Mimi G." I would basically film myself getting ready in the morning and talk about how I select my outfit, accessories etc. whatcha think?

DIY LBD + Aldo Heeled Sandals

Happy Thursday! 

I can almost reach Friday! and boy can I tell ya I have a lot going on. I have started the sewing on the skirts ordered and should be shipping the first few by Wednesday so that is awesome, I also have a project I am working on with another blogger (I'll disclose that soon enough) and to top it all off my baby's birthday is tomorrow and he turns 5 and Sunday is Mothers Day! 

I made this dress before in a wine color and loved it so I made another one in black months and months ago but never got around to wearing it. The pattern is McCall's 5705 which is out of print BUT I think you can still order it on the website. Speaking of McCall's....Hobby Lobby has McCall Patterns on sale for .99 cents so if you live near a Hobby Lobby you may want to stop in and grab a few patterns.

Pattern Sizing: I cut the 4 on top and 8 on the bottom


Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes


Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are easy to follow and if you have made any of my maxi dresses or skirts you can make this.


What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like how easy this pattern is because sometimes I like to make no brainer items that take little effort or brain power, lol

Would you sew it again? No, I have already made it once before so I think I will retire it.

What I Wore...

Hello Everyone! 

Yesterdays excitement with the car had me exhausted, LOL trying to hold in the surprise was so hard ;-) Thank you so much for all the lovely comments and she wanted to let you all know that she is beside herself right now with excitement.

Happy Hump Day!

Tomorrow is the big day, wooohooo!! LOL and I can't wait to pick a winner ;-) you guys are so great!

What I Wore

I had this cute little skirt number all set for today and then I saw the weather and we are scheduled for a storm :-/ what in the world is going on in Cali! so I switched into my jeans and wrap. I made this wrap several weeks ago and wore it here and the jeans I picked up ages ago at Forever 21. I needed a pop of color today since it was dark and gloomy so I pulled out one of my favorite bags by Kate Spade, she has the greatest bag colors and the size of this bag is perfect, just big enough but not too big where I have to search endlessly like Mary Poppins in search of my keys ;-)

 BTW, Did you guys know that Kate Spade was the Senior Fashion Editor and Head of Accessories at Mademoiselle Magazine before she left to start her own company in 1991? she is truly one of my favorites! Kate really understands what women want in handbags and accessories and I really love her whimsical RTW collections too; they have a young, colorful and vibrant look about them and yet manage to be classic and elegant and very feminine which I love. I am dying for this Kate Spade Cardi!

What I Wore | Who's That Girl?

Hi Guys!!

So today was interesting, ever since we moved back down to the city my DH has been driving an hour each way to attend the church we use to attend so we have decided to visit some local churches to see if we could attend them when driving is not an option (I won't drive an hour, LOL) so we need it to be close if I am attending.

Today we visited a church and as always I was very glam/hollywood because that is how I am use to going to church (it's a fashion show you know) but today when we walked in I stood out a like crazy, lmbo!!
ALL the women were in ankle length dresses/skirts, hair pinned up in a bun and ZERO makeup and NO jewelry! and here I come in a fur vest with suede leggings, sky high heels, blinged out with red lipstick on!!! If I wasn't so comfortable with who i am I would have felt uncomfortable but of course I didn't, I just thought it funny that the women looked at me as if I were a starlet :) we then realized we were in a very traditional pentecostal church, LOL!!

I must say that they were very friendly and welcoming and the message was good so this was a win win for today, this what I wore...
