Fashion Inspiration Friday

Hello Darlings! I am a pinterest fanatic for sure and pin things that I either want to buy or make so I thought I would share 2 looks I am so loving right now and plan to recreate.

This Halle Berry pic has been going around the web a lot and the dress, which she looks amazing in BTW, is fabulous so I immediately  thought of Vogue Pattern 8280 as a great pattern to work from.

Inspiration: Halle Wearing Roland Mouret

she looks stunning in this dress that looks painted on, lol and I have had the Vogue 8280 in my stash for at least 5 years and have yet to make up this pattern so I think I am going to order some stretch sateen and make myself a version of this dress. This pattern has been reviewed a LOT on Pattern Review so if you want to see how it worked out for others you can take a look HERE..

BTW If you don't already know about PR and are a seamstress or a newbie to sewing and you always wonder how a pattern worked out for someone else before you gave it a shot you should check out PR (Pattern Review) its a great site with a ton of information.

Miley Cyrus Wearing Temperly London

I LOVE Miley's new hair and her style has evolved a little bit with age and I am sorta hot and cold on her but this Temperly London studded vest  is so cute! I need to have it! I really like that she wore it with a soft flowing pair of pants (looks like a maxi skirt) the hard/soft look is nice.

I have not figured out which pattern to use just yet for the shell but I may just draft a basic bodice since it looks pretty simple but the thought of studding this vest is ummmm...yeah that may need to wait a bit unless I use "Hot Fix" studs and just glue the hell out of it, LOL

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

  1. Both those looks would look great on you. I particularly like Miley's look from head to toe. I meant to pick up 8280 at the Joann pattern sale today and forgot. May have to go back for it. I really dig the various neckline and sleeve options.

  2. Gaaah! Halle's look drives me nuts. Whenever something pulls over the hips, it's just TOO SMALL. If only girls would go up a size, they would look so much better and noone would know..... That dress would look amazing on you - and I'm sure you'd make it fit, not pull LOL
