OOTD: DIY Skirt + Gold Sweater

Hi Darlings,

Happy Thursday! today's look was inspired by a pinterest pin I saw of Reuben Reuel's collection De-Mes'Tiks and since then I have been on the hunt for African Wax Prints. I found some locally which is what I made skirt out of but am looking for more!! You can find similar fabrics HERE

I made the skirt the same way I made the Regal Maxi Skirt which is my most popular TUTORIAL. It is so easy to understand, follow along and can be made for any size and length. The sweater is from H&M from several seasons ago and it is probably my most favorite sweater. The nude heels are also old and from Steve Madden.

  4. Ok Mimi!!! one diy at a time!!! we love you, yes we do but if you keep crankin out diy's like this, will you have anything left to give to us? I love this skirt. this question was posed under the circle skirt tutorial yesterday, yet I feel like it is something that needs to be addressed. with this diy and the circle skirt, how do we address the "extra sumthin-sumthin" in the "rear"? you know how we are with that "curve appeal". To me, it just seems like it would be higher in the back once it is completed. your expertise/wisdom would be greatly appreciated on this one. I know I am not alone in this department. (literally and figuratively speaking)
thanks for being the great inspiration that you are to each of us,
    Trena

    1. That is something you cant really fix with a circle skirt like this one. Most times you cut the back piece longer to allow the "lifting" that happens with a big bum but in this case the skirt is cut in one whole piece. You would just need to make it longer, lay it flat and then cut the front the shorter length.

  22. Hi Mimi. nice blog. All your creations too! I was wondering if the skirt is lined. Or if the fabric was thick enough and not sheer. The reason I asked is I was just looking at some African wax print fabric in a local fabric store here in Panama, Central America. I wanted to make some kind of clothing item with it.
