Hi Darlings!
It's getting close to REGISTRATION DAY!!! for the 3rd Annual Mimi G Fashion, Sewing & Style Conference. I am so excited!!!!! I will be opening registration and posting full details on the 13th so don't forget to check back. As you may remember I keep attendance manageable and tickets sell FAST!
Okay now for my top. I had pinned a top like this in a fuzzy, fleece fabric and it just looked so cozy that I wanted to make myself one. Then while in Atlanta I saw the lovely Michelle of Social Butterfly Boutique wearing a similar version and it reminded me of that pin. I used pattern V7997 which is now out of print but you can still order it online and made some modifications of course, but nothing really major.
Modifications: I did not do any of the gathering, I doubled the width of the fold over band, added 5" in length to the top and 3" to the length of the sleeves. I also cut a size larger so it would be loose and comfy.
I love this soooo much!!! You go GIRL!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Looks like a nice comfy weekend out and about top.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteCan we just buy from you?
ReplyDeleteSorry doll, not this one.
DeleteSo Cute! I would love to get in your closet! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteOooo this top is too cute! It looks so cozy and casual but it gives the outfit an extra boost and I loooove to bare my shoulders! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMe too ;-) lol

DeleteCan I be able to use Simplicity 1613 look D without the strap to achieve this.
ReplyDeleteYES! :-)
DeleteSo in love with this!!
ReplyDeleteMimi! Is there any color or anything that doesn't look great on you? (and if you say yes, I want proof! :-D) That color looks great on you and that fabric looks so comfortable. You keep me with a cart full of patterns and fabric all day. Luckily, I have that simplicity pattern, so I'll give it a try.
ReplyDeleteSo sexy! I have wanted one of these tops. So, I guess I will have to make it..hummm
ReplyDeleteThanks Mimi...you are great!!!
What material would you suggest using for this top?
ReplyDeleteI like the sweater knits, I linked to my picks under the "Get the look"

ReplyDeleteMimi, forgive me for asking, but what kind of foundation (bra) do wear with something like this? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteNo need for forgiveness, lol it is a natural question to ask. I have a on a basic strapless bra.
