Hi Darlings!!
We had a Christmas program at the church yesterday so of course I spent Saturday night making something to wear for Sunday, lol. I self drafted the peplum mini dress from a bodice block I made for myself and used my TNT (tried and true) leggings pattern that I made years ago from an old pair. I have been meaning to make sequin leggings for some time and what better time to get sequins out of my system than during the holidays.
I used THIS black stretch mini sequins fabric for my leggings. They also have the same fabric in PINK, GOLD, TURQUOISE, BLACK & PURPLE. The fabric for my peplum mini is a wool/rayon blend I had in my stash.
DIY Peplum Mini & DIY Sequin Leggings (fabric linked above) / Steve Madden Boots HERE / Express Necklace (my current favorite) HERE (on sale)
Love this look. Have a wonderful Xmas Mimi and may 2014 be everything if you wish for.

ReplyDeleteI love this outfit. I have a question about the leggings. For the slouchy effect at the bottom do you just make them longer?

ReplyDeleteLove the look, and... I have that exact fabric in my stash waiting to be made into SOMETHING! Did you painstakingly remove the sequins on the seams or did you sew straight over them? And how did you finish the seams on the inside? Any tips on sewing with this fabric would be sooo much appreciated.
