Hi Darlings!

You would be amazed how often I am asked "Mimi, what do you carry in your handbag?" I always find it funny because as our lives change so do our handbags. When my kids were little the bottom of my bag was littered with snacks, cookie crumbs, dried up juice stains, diapers (sometimes dirty ones #dontjudgeme) lol! But now that the kids are out of my handbags and I transitioned into a designer bag junkie, my bag is now littered with much more yummy things.

During the winter you will find the likes of... a ridiculous amount of lip gloss (I never know when I want to change up during the day) some lotion because my hands are ALWAYS dry,  driving gloves (because they look cool when I have my top down), my wallet, a thumb drive (what can I say I am a blogger) my cell phone, my sunnies of course and I always carry plenty of cough drops and gum!

Naturally when Ricola asked if I would share my thoughts on their amazing #swissherbs  I jumped at the chance because Ricola is the only brand of cough drops I ever purchase for myself. I can eat them like candy (not sure you are supposed to do that) but they are so stinking good and some taste like hard candy. As you know I only share items I personally love and use so believe me when I say these are truly the best.

When the box arrived with the cough drops and info on the $100 giveaway..Oh did I not mention they are giving one of you a $100 Giftcard (Visa or Mastercard) lol YAY You!! my bad..info at the end. lol!
As I was saying, when the box arrived I opened it and it actually sang to me..RIIICOLAAAA which was hilarious because it kinda scared me. The box contained two of my fav's "Extra Strength Glacier Mint" which has a soothing syrup in the center and a bag of the  "Natural Herb Cough Drops" which by the way "are cultivated using organic farming methods without chemical pesticides to ensure optimum taste and effectiveness" What do you carry in your handbag that is a must?

  8. I get my bag ready by replacing small sweat towels with Kleenex (always handy in winter), regular chap stick with Vaseline lip moisture (love it), and regular hand lotion with Burts Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream (very dry hands in winter). Everything else pretty much stays the same! Thanks!

  9. I try to get winter ready by ensuring that I have plenty of warm winter items in my bag. My gloves and maybe some extra and perhaps even a pair of socks! I live in NC so the weather changes really really quick here. ~Ciara

  14. Well winter ready isn't the same for me since I live in South Florida. Our bags are kind of similar. I have my wallet, sunnies and LOADS of lip gloss. (it's an addiction. Plus I too have Puerto Rican bembas lol) I think that's HILARIOUS that the box sang to you. That's awesome.

  15. How I get me winter hand bag (aka very large duffle bag) ready is simply having my everyday essential items that only get taken out when I need it (spare gloves, ChapStick, sun glasses, etc). And tucked in a small pocket is emergency cash and my AAA card. I have had way too many break downs in the past year not to cary those items !!

  16. Well since I'm called the "mother" of the group to my friends I'm always prepared for mostly everything... I only carry Hobo/ Bucket Style Large bags (my Zara and MK) purses are my absolute favs! My entire purse is organized with compact bags that serve a purpose and helps keeps things in order and my OCD under control. (don't judge me) lol -- 1. compact case contains lip gloss, eos lip balms, floss picks, a travel tooth brush, tooth paste and sugar free Stride gum (spearmint), and peppermints 2. contains small Vaseline, small palmers cocoa-butter and Curel Lotion ( I have super dry skin and I have to stay moisturized in the winter) 3. mini 1st aid kit and meds for headaches, cramps, upset stomach and antihistamine 4. "shark week" (is monthly cycle) readiness kit; most of the time I am asked by other women for Tampons etc. so I stay ready...and of course phone charger/ flash drive my iPhone, keys, wallet and sun glasses!!

  17. First off... thanks for such a fab giveaway!

There's not much I do to get my handbag winter ready. I usually make extra sure I have a good lip balm and hand moisturizer because the dry winter air is awful on my hand and lips. The inside of my bag is much like yours: Lip balm, wallet, sunnies, candy/gum. Oh I do keep a little pouch of doggy treats and a small bottle of water because my little dog Minnie is almost always with me

Btw...why did I have to sing the "Ricola" when I read about the box?! #silliness

My winter bag looks like this- my iPod, iTouch, iPad, Nook eReader (don't judge, lol), my blackberry, hand lotion, cocoa butter chapstick, thumb drive, metrocard, wallet, keys, gloves, mail I never got around to reading because I pick it up on my way to work, kleenex tissue, wipes for my eyeglasses, a small mirror, and a pen.

  25. What's in my bag you ask MiMi?! Please don't laugh at the randomness found in my purse for I am a single mother of two on the go...

In my bag I have the usual female stuff: wallet, iPhone charger, iPhone 5 adapter, shea moisture coconut & hibiscus lotion, lip gloss, work security badge, headphones, eos lip balm, lipsticks, makeup bag (for touch-ups), perfume, deodorant, comb, gum, moleskine mini notebook, female hygiene products and contact solution with spare contacts.

Now for the odd things, dinosaur toy, hello kitty stuffed doll, mini toy water gun, my daughter's princess crown, a sock (one single sock), fruit gusher snacks, pretzel bags, bag of popcorn and a bottle of water.

As you can tell I basically carry around a cute satchel. I actually had to sit and look in my purse for once. Things usually just get thrown in there. My friends have said since my high school years that if they ever got stranded on an island they would want me and my magical purse stranded with them. I always have at least one thing that you may need in my purse.

  32. Mimi let me start by saying I am a real life bag lady so what could easily be in 3 bags is in my purse. Getting a hand bag ready is critical because I switch bags so often there are several items that are a must regardless of the size of the handbag or where the hand bag is going.
    1. Vaseline Lip Therapy that you have pictured, not only is it a cute little mini case of Vaseline but it it is a really awesome product.
    2. My makeup bag, this could be a mini bag in itself so I won't bore you with the details of what's in it but it aids in refreshing the face, changing from day to night look after work, or switching a look mi day because I can.
    3. Some sort of hair item, I am natural which means unpredictable. Therefore a hair tie, bobbin pin, something is always in my purse in case I need to change a look quickly or of the winter weather is too harsh for my hair that day.
    4. Pens, if I do not write it down it will not be remember and ultimately will not get done so I have to keep a few different pens in my bag.
    5. Highlighter, color coding helps my brain work more efficiently so just in case I need to highlight something I have one available.
    6. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue roller, a mid day freshen up, or moving too quickly in the morning and forget to put on perfume I always have a back up.
    7. Extra pair of earrings or two, I NEVER go without earrings so if I need to make a quick change after work which requires a different look or if I somehow leave home without any on.
    8. Random jewelry, not sure why but I always have random bangles and rings in my purse.
    9. lip gloss and lip sticks, these are usually independent from my makeup bag and what girl doesn't need a few options through out the day if she chooses
    10. Candy, I have nephews who expect candy every time they see me and I unfortunately am their pusher. Shhhhhh please don't tell their mom.
    11. My cellphone, how do any of us live without them. I am trying to remember how I lived prior to cellphones and I think the cellphone secretly zapped my memory because I real life do not remember.
    12. cough drops, these are crucial during winter months. The goal is to find one that tastes good and does it's job. Once you have found that you win.
    13. Handlotion, Nivea Soft is the most incredible lotion I have ever used. Try it.
    14. Earbuds, incase I want to rock out while grocery shopping :)
    15. Something that does not belong to me. Sounds weird but I am an Assistant Director of a student life office at a university and students are always leaving this behind whether its a brush left at pageant practice, a mini iPad accidentally left in my office, or a notebook life in the cafe I always have students items with me trying to run them down and return it.

This was a cool contest. I enjoyed reading the items in everyone else's bag.

*forgot my iPhone charger, I never go anywhere without it. I am becoming the girl who will charge it anywhere!

  52. He Mimi. Any handbags that I am not currently using is kept in its drawstring bag. While staying at a boutique hotel in Cozumel one year, I came across a nice fragrance (at the spa). It is Orange Water. I brought back a bottle and use it to spritz on anything that needs refreshing. When I put my clothing, purses and shoes away I like to give them a bit of a spritz. However, upon becoming a Naturalista, I got more into herbs and oils. So now, I take satchets and dip them in a herb/oil combo. The smell is amazing. I hang them for a while to allow the oils to drain out, but not the smell. I enclose it in a plastic baggy and put it in the purse before closing it up in its drawstring. Talk about fresh and clean smells? Whatever fragrance you desire. Then when I use the bag, I make sure I have my special blend lotion (made especially for me), some lip balm (I am not a makeup wearer), and some mints. I do keep my driving gloves in my bag. Ah, yes, I also have a small notebook in my bag, to hold all of the receipts I collect (I don't know why I do, but I like to take advantage of the deals they put on the receipts, sue me).

I have everything you can think of in my bag a few examples are.... scissors, mini sewing kit, safety pins, first aid kit, hand sanitizer, gum, mints, cough drops ( I have never tried Ricola they sound like they may be good), tissue, medicine for every symptom you can have, in small divided craft container. Icould keep listing items in bag all day but this gives you an idea. I have always been the one everyone comes to to get whatever is needed when we are at church or soccer practice or wherever. 112. My winter bag has the usual suspects - always a SoftLips lip balm, Burts Bees honey lip balm and I just tried the new EOS round lip balms because my 3rd grade girls all had them and I had to be cool like them! :D Hand sanitizer is a must (again, I teach 3rd grade -germ-a-palooza!) 2 types of lotion because of my constant contact with paper along with the dry Cali weather, and most definitely cough drops (Ricola are the best!) and sunnies. We've been from 80 degrees to 50 degrees in a span of two days so you never know! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  121. My handbag always carries: A fresh inhaler for my asthma; a hanky; lip gloss - generally Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm or Chubby Chap Sunkissed Vanilla lip balm as well as a Lip Smackers Sugar Cookie one which smells great; a small makeup case in which I keep my two sets of keys (which always get lost in some part of my bag that wants not to be found); a small address book, pen and Papermate Sharpwriter pencil along with a small spiral notebook; a small pill container with my asthma med and Advil liquigels for my fibromyalgia and arthritis. If I am going somewhere special, I will add my powder compact and tinted lip gloss. Also included are my check book, my wallet and a separate card case with my driver's license and owner's card as well as other necessary cards, and family photos. Very often, Hall's or Smith Brothers cough drops are included too. I used to carry Healing Gardens lavender scent beads for anti-stress but believe that company is now out of business. 127. First off, I loves that red bag, but for some reason when I go out I never find good red accessories for myself. Grrrr!

But anywho, I get my handbag winter ready by making sure I add lotion since the cold weather makes my hands wayyy ashier than normal. I normally don't carry any creams with me since I'm afraid they'll bust in my bag, but during the winter I make an exception. I also make sure that I have hand sanitizer because I'm a teacher and I'm always around sick children. Other items in my bag this season include my EOS lip balm and a bottle of water. I'm like always thirsty!
