  9. You have inspired me to learn to sew. I'm a thick chick with style on a budget. I'm excited to be able to have awesome pieces without spending an arm and a leg. My mother used to make clothes for us when we were younger. She was so excited to hear I want to sew, she giving me a machine. This will be my first project. I'm going TRIBAL!

  11. I am so excited to start this project. I am a very new beginner...lol...and I love your teaching method. I can actually follow along and make nice clothes. Now my friends want me to make things for them but, they don't realize the effort that goes into making your own clothes. I have become a sewing junkie...lol...but it's wonderful. Thanks, Mimi. Peace and Blessings to you girl.

    1. Doesn't matter we just need the curve of the ruler and not the Seam Allowance guide for this but in general I use the 5/8" the most

  16. You may have answered this (still reading comments), but does the pattern cover plus sizes?

Also with the video, can we or are we able to save it? I know some video tutorials expire after a certain time.

I subscribe to you on you tube and save videos that I'd like to go back and sew/learn. Thanks so much! :-) -JC

  23. I love your tutorials, sewing and your blog, but unfortunately I'm under age, so I can't buy the patterns. This makes me look forward to turning 18 even more! Anyway, you have an AMAZING blog and you inspired me to start sewing.

  24. Is this the ruler you recommend? 58th-sa-curve-pattern-drafter

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hi Mimi.... Love this skirt. Im so nervous about drafting my own pattern though. Is there a way I can do it without the curve pattern drafter? It is $15 alone in shipping to Australia. Or is there an alternative i can use that i could find locally do you think?
Also, what kind of fabrics can this be made with? Definitely getting the 4pack tutes if i can find an alternative curve!!
    Thanks
    Kelly
