I gotta tell you that I am in love with this dress!! I usually won't buy something I can easily make unless the fabric calls to me and this one did just that. It fits amazing and feels very glam.

  It gets cold in my office so I took my card just in case I start freezing and the nips start to show, BWHAHAHAH BTW, here is a tip you prob already know but...I use band aids on my nips if I am not wearing a bra and don't want to be "poking out" LOL...Just saying!

Saturday DIY Maxi + Baby Boy Turns 5

What a busy day today. My youngest turned 5 today and so when asked where he wanted to go he replied Chuck e Cheese....why do kids love that place? LOL So off we went.

DIY Maxi + DIY Wrap Top: Girl You Be Killin Em'

Happy Hump Day!!! I am in such a good mood today because the sun is out and I am so full of color I am about to freakin burst, lol! I made this maxi and top over the weekend and couldn't wait for it to be warm enough to wear it. I am thinking the next tutorial will be an easy peasy maxi skirt, what say you?

B5650 + NL6149 OOP

The skirt is a printed chiffon and the lining is a white poly. The pattern for this skirt is uber easy you just have a whole lot of gathering. It came together pretty quickly and it makes me so happy just looking at it, lol!

I used my serger for the rolled hem and an invisible zipper in the CB

NL6149 is out of print but I think you can still find it online. I read the reviews and they weren't great but I knew I could make the adjustments needed. The first thing was in every picture shown in the reviews the ties looked limp and kinda sad and I think that there just needed to be fitting adjustments made and it would have been fine. This is what I did: Took out 5/8" on each side of the pattern because I wanted the sleeves to look more raglan than dolman. I also interfaced the ties so they could hold shape and I also used a 1/2" strip of interfacing on the hem and then sewed my hem so it would be a crisp hem and not wobbly because my fabric is very light weight.

I wore it with my H&M Necklace, MK White Leather Band Watch, Green Stone Ring from F21 & misc bangles and thang's

DIY Dress: Pattern Review Mission Maxi

Hi Guys!!

Today is so beautiful outside, its 82 degrees here and sunny! I have already made the Mission Maxi before but it is one of the best maxi patterns I have and it is so fast and easy to make I new when I picked up my leopard print jersey that it would make a great maxi dress.

Pattern Description: Maxi dress with variations

Pattern Sizing: I cut size 2

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? This is as simple as it gets. I love how quick it sews up.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I am a huge maxi fan so having this as my TNT is fantastic, it is easy to alter, add design changes etc.

Fabric Used: Cotton print jersey I got for $3 a yard in the fashion district.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Umm yeah, I will be making a few more with some design changes.


Would you recommend it to others? Yes!
