Pussy Bow Top + Full Skirt Pattern Reviews

Hi Darlings!

I hope you guys are having a great week. I am rushing off on you guys today but not before leaving you with two pattern reviews on V8882 + M6550

GET THE LOOK: Midi Length Skirt (similar) HERE / Top (similar) HERE / Steve Madden Heels (old) similar HERE / Michael Kors Bag (old) similar HERE / Michael Kors Sunnies (similar) HERE

Pattern: Skirt V8882 View F

Fabric Used:
The fabrics I used were remnant pieces but HERE are some Chiffon options for the top and HERE are some fabric options for the skirt. Make sure to use your coupon! "MIMI10"

Pattern Sizing: I cut the 6

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope when you were done? Yep

Were the instructions easy to follow? This is fast and easy. I love skirts that don't take very long to make including cutting time. I prefer pockets so  may add them next time.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I did not dislike anything. I love the fullness at the hem.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None.

Would you sew it again? Yes. I will be making the other views too.

Would you recommend it to others? Most certainly!

Pattern Sizing: I cut the 4

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope when you were done? Yep

Were the instructions easy to follow? I LOVE this top and this pattern will be added to my TNT list (Tried-and-True) The top is pretty straight forward.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I am a sucker for a pussy bow ;-)

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None. I did however create bias binding for the armholes using scraps from my skirt.

Would you sew it again? lol, oh yeah.

Would you recommend it to others? Yes.

  13. Lovely top. And I so wish I could make something similar for myself...I still have an inordinate fear for chiffon fabrics. I just might give it a try with a less temperamental fabric. Oh and the skirt is great too...I love the little clusters that create pleat-like details.

  14. Looking great! one question though, what is the difference in that skirt and the circle skirt video you made?
it's longer of course other than that?

  16. Lovely ensemble. I like the length of the skirt and the look of the blouse. Longer sleeves on the blouse would work nicely too.

  18. Absolutely wonderful but I could not help thinking how quickly I would break my neck, or a hip, in those gorgeous heels! Do you know the fiber of the fabric you used for the skirt? Lovely, as is the blouse. Did you get a hair cut? It looks adorable. In think we have yet to see a bad photo of you (you must be the most photogenic person in the world) and you look great in every single thing you make. I have spent the afternoon wondering what to wear to my 50th high school reunion in April and think I have decided on a dress and jacket. That way, when I start to roast, which will happen, bless the hot flashes, then I can take the jacket off and be cooler. Deciding what I would wear made me face how little I actually go out anymore, other than food shopping or to Barnes & Noble for my chai fix as well as to feed my magazine love. It is sad, but I think I have dressed up once in the last 5 years. Sad, sad. Maybe making this dress and jacket will start me back to sewing, but first, back on The Zone to lose some more weight before I put the time into sewing.
